Greetings, noble friends and fair maidens! Welcome to another installment of our medieval musings from the heart of history itself. We’ve been on quite the adventure recently, visiting some of the most storied sites in all of England. So grab your tankard of ale (or a goblet of mead if you prefer) and join us as we recount our jolly good times at Bodiam Castle, Sherwood Forest, and Glastonbury Abbey!

Bodiam Castle: Archery, Adventure, and All-Around Amusement

Our first stop was the breathtaking Bodiam Castle, a perfect backdrop for our longbow archery range. Picture this: the majestic castle towering over us, the moat shimmering in the sunlight, and the sounds of arrows whistling through the air as visitors channeled their inner Robin Hood. Fun fact: Bodiam Castle was built in 1385 to defend against French invasion during the Hundred Years’ War. While we didn’t face any marauding French knights, we did have our hands full with enthusiastic archers aiming for the bullseye.

A hearty thank you to our incredible crew for setting up the range with such finesse, and a shoutout to the Bodiam Castle staff for being the most gracious hosts. Your hospitality was as warm as a medieval feast hall!

Sherwood Forest: In the Footsteps of Legends

Next, we journeyed to the legendary Sherwood Forest, home to none other than Robin Hood and his merry band of outlaws. Nestled next to the ancient Major Oak, our medieval shop and activity range were buzzing with excitement. Longbow archery? Check. Axe throwing? Double check. Fun fact: The Major Oak is estimated to be around 1,000 years old and has a canopy spread of 92 feet! It’s no wonder Robin Hood chose this magnificent tree as his hideout.

We can’t thank our dedicated team enough for their hard work in the heart of the forest, and a special nod to the Sherwood Forest staff for making our stay a truly legendary experience. Without you, we’d be lost in the woods (literally and figuratively)!

Glastonbury Abbey: Mystical Markets and Marvellous Axe Throwing

Our final destination was the mystical Glastonbury Abbey, steeped in history and legend. Our medieval shop and axe throwing range found a perfect home next to the abbey, where visitors could test their mettle and shop for the finest medieval wares. Fun fact: Glastonbury Abbey is often linked to the legend of King Arthur, and some even believe it’s his final resting place. While we didn’t find Excalibur, we did discover that axe throwing is an excellent way to channel your inner warrior.

A round of applause to our fantastic crew for their tireless efforts, and a heartfelt thank you to the Glastonbury Abbey staff for their warm welcome and impeccable support. You made us feel like royalty!

Until Next Time, Brave Adventurers!

As we pack up our tents and bid farewell to these historic havens, we carry with us memories of laughter, camaraderie, and countless arrows loosed at distant targets. Whether you joined us for a bit of archery, tried your hand at axe throwing, or simply perused our medieval shop, we hope you had as much fun as we did.

Stay tuned for more medieval merriment, and may your days be filled with the spirit of adventure and the joy of history brought to life. Until next time, keep your arrows straight and your axes sharp!

Yours in chivalry and cheer,
